Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Consultant for London Businesses
I am Memona, an answer engine optimization (AEO) consultant based in Dubai. I work with London businesses remotely, over video calls that overlap with UK working hours, to get them named by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. You deal with one named person, and I report progress in enquiries and revenue.

The core of the role is the same everywhere, and I explain it in full on my page about what an answer engine optimization consultant does: make your business the source AI quotes when a buyer asks for a recommendation. For a London business, the work looks like this.
- Baseline in your market: I run the prompts a London buyer would type, including the borough or postcode you serve, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, and record who gets named and whether it is you.
- One set of facts: London businesses tend to be listed in many places, from Google Business Profile to UK directories, sector bodies and review sites. I make your name, services and location say the same thing everywhere, so AI is not choosing between versions of you.
- Area-level pages: where you really serve the City, Canary Wharf, Shoreditch or a particular borough, I make sure a page says so plainly. A vague 'we serve all of London' line gives AI very little to match against a buyer's question.
- Answer-first content: I rewrite the pages that matter so each one opens with a direct answer that a buyer, or an AI engine, can take in one read.
- Crawler access and schema: I check that AI crawlers can reach your site and that your structured data describes your business, people and services correctly.
- Re-test and report: I rerun the same prompts on a set cadence and report what changed, next to the enquiries that came through your own form.
This sits on top of Google rankings, not instead of them. If your bigger gap is being found on Google at all, start with my page on SEO in London. The two pieces of work share the same foundations, and I usually fix the basics first.
How do London buyers check a business in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews?
I am not going to quote adoption figures for London or the UK here, because I would rather not repeat a number I cannot trace to its primary source. What I can describe is how these tools behave when a buyer asks them for help, because that is what shapes the work.
ChatGPT shortlists by name
A buyer asks something like 'Which accountants near Clapham work with small limited companies?' and gets a short list of named firms, often with a reason for each. Those names come from what is written about businesses across the web: their own sites, directories, reviews and articles. If those sources are thin or disagree, a competitor gets the mention.
Gemini and AI Overviews lean on Google
Gemini and Google AI Overviews draw on Google's own index, and for local questions they can surface details from Google's business listings. An AI Overview can sit above the usual results, so its summary is often the first thing a buyer reads. Clear pages and an accurate profile are the inputs you control.
Perplexity shows its sources
Perplexity answers with links to the pages it used, so a buyer can click straight through to check. That makes it a useful test: if your own site, or a trusted page about you, is not among the sources for questions in your category, there is a clear gap to close.
Buyers ask by area and need
Few people ask for 'a solicitor in London'. They ask for a specific service near a specific place, in their own words, then follow up about availability, timing or what to bring. Pages that answer those follow-up questions directly are the ones AI can quote with confidence.
One thing to watch in the UK: the acronym. “AEO” is also Authorised Economic Operator, a customs status run by HMRC, and a search for it often returns that instead. If you are briefing someone internally, say “answer engine optimization” in full so nobody goes looking in the wrong place. What is it like working with a Dubai-based consultant from London?
I will be plain about it: I live and work in Dubai, and I do not have a London office. Dubai does not change its clocks, so it is four hours ahead of London in winter and three hours ahead during British Summer Time. In practice, your morning and early afternoon sit inside my working day, which is when calls happen.
Every engagement starts with scope, not a package. On the first call I look at your site, your listings and your market, and tell you plainly whether AI search is worth your money right now. If it is, this is what the work looks like.
Calls
A kickoff video call, then a short check-in each month, booked in your morning or early afternoon. We look at the AI answers and your pages together on screen, so nothing is described second-hand.
Cadence
A written plan within the first two weeks. Then a monthly cycle: changes shipped, prompts re-tested, next priorities agreed with you. Between calls, everything is written down, so your team always knows what is being worked on and why.
Reporting
One short monthly report in plain English. It shows which prompts now name you, what changed on the site, and the enquiries and revenue you can trace to search through your own form and analytics. No rankings-only dashboards and no made-up scores.
Not ready for a full engagement? The AI visibility audit is a one-off review of what AI engines say about your business and why. Or start with a free audit of your site. Both show you where you stand before you commit to anything.
Who is answer engine optimization for in London?
Owners and marketing leads at London businesses with a working website, real customers and real reviews, in sectors where buyers now ask AI before they get in touch. These are the London sectors I already cover on this site.
Law firms
People ask AI which firm handles a specific kind of matter, often near where they live or work. Practice-area pages that answer real client questions are what get quoted.

Accountants and financial firms
Owners ask AI for an accountant who fits their kind of company. Clear service pages and profiles that agree with each other help you get named.
Clinics and healthcare
Patients ask AI for a clinic or practitioner by treatment and area. Named practitioners and clear treatment pages give AI something specific to cite.
Estate agents
Buyers and tenants ask AI which agent knows a neighbourhood. I make sure your branches, the areas you cover and your people are described the same way everywhere.
SaaS and tech companies
Buyers ask AI to compare tools and shortlist vendors. Plain product pages, honest comparisons and consistent descriptions across review sites decide who appears.
Not a good fit
- Anyone who wants a guaranteed spot in AI answers. Nobody can honestly promise that, and I will not.
- Businesses that want results in days. Some changes show quickly; reviews and mentions take longer.
- Anyone who needs a consultant in the room every week. I work remotely from Dubai.
I also have pages for businesses in City of London, Canary Wharf, Mayfair and Shoreditch, and for the rest of the country on my page about SEO and AEO in the UK.
