Who it’s for

This is for you if you rank fine on Google but AI assistants never mention you, name a competitor instead, or get your details wrong. It suits small and mid-sized businesses, single-location companies and service firms, such as accounting and bookkeeping practices, that want a clear picture before spending on answer engine optimization.

What’s included
  • Manual checks in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot, using the questions your customers actually ask
  • Entity consistency review: name, address, description, categories and founder details across your site, directories and profiles
  • Crawler access check: robots.txt, llms.txt and blocks on GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended
  • Answer-first content review: whether key pages give a direct, quotable answer in the first paragraph
  • Schema markup review: Organization, Service, FAQ and LocalBusiness markup, and whether it is server-rendered
  • Reviews and mentions review: the third-party sources AI engines lean on when they recommend a business
  • Competitor set: who each engine recommends instead of you, and what those businesses have that you do not
  • A written report, a prioritised fix list you or your team can act on, and a call to walk through it

How does this service help in AI search?

A standard SEO audit checks whether Google can crawl, index and rank your pages. An AI visibility audit asks a different question: when someone asks an AI assistant for a business like yours, do you get named, and is what it says about you correct? That depends on things an SEO audit rarely looks at: whether your name, address and description match across the web, whether AI crawlers are allowed in, whether your pages give a direct answer an engine can quote, and whether reviews and third-party mentions back you up. I check all of that across six engines and show you the gap between you and the businesses AI recommends instead.

FAQ

Common questions about AI Visibility Audit

What is an AI visibility audit?
An AI visibility audit is a review of how AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot describe and recommend your business. It records what each engine says, finds the reasons you are missing or misdescribed, and turns them into a prioritised list of fixes.
How is this different from an SEO audit?
An SEO audit checks whether Google can crawl, index and rank your pages. An AI visibility audit checks whether AI engines name you, describe you correctly and recommend you over competitors. It covers entity consistency, AI crawler access, answer-first content and third-party mentions, which most SEO audits leave out. My SEO Audit and Roadmap includes a lighter AI check; this service goes deep on it.
Which AI engines do you check?
I check ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Each is queried by hand with the questions your customers would ask, in the markets you serve, and the answers are recorded so you can see exactly what each engine says about you and about your competitors.
Do I need this if I already rank well on Google?
Often, yes. Ranking on Google does not mean AI engines recommend you. They draw on your entity data, third-party mentions, reviews and whether your pages give a direct answer, and they can be blocked by your robots.txt without you knowing. The audit shows whether your Google strength is carrying over into AI answers or not.
What do I receive at the end?
You receive a written report showing what each engine says about you, why, and how you compare with the businesses it recommends instead. It comes with a prioritised fix list your team or developer can act on, and a call where we go through it together and agree what to do first.
Is this suitable for a small business or a single-location company?
Yes. Small and single-location businesses are often the easiest to fix, because the gaps are usually inconsistent listings, missing schema or a blocked crawler rather than a weak brand. The audit is scoped to your site and competitor set on the call, so a small business gets a small, focused piece of work.
